Busselton Ironman and 70.3 Training and Racing

busso-blog2The Busselton Ironman and 70.3 are iconic long course triathlon races in an absolutely stunning location

Currently, there are 6 months to the race in December, a great time frame to plan and prepare for the event, to work on your swim technique to become a more efficient swimmer, bike endurance and cycling run efficiency

Establishing a good base is important for the later stages of training and now is the best time to develop this

Busselton Ironman is one of the best open water swims you will do, crystal clear water swimming alongside the Busselton Jetty where spectators can walk the entire length of the swim course

Although the bike course is a flatter profile, it creates its own challenge and you need to train and prepare appropriately for it, adjusting your training to suit the course and developing a suitable race strategy through riding with a power meter in training and for the race. The run is a similar profile to the bike, with a beautiful backdrop of the jetty and bay to distract you, the looped course provides spectators with numerous opportunities to see the athletes

Onebody Health and Fitness have trained and helped prepare many triathletes, both locally and via online coaching who have raced in Busselton and on other courses, with considerable knowledge of the location and course, and understanding the unique characteristics of preparing for the event. Through understanding your training availability and other factors, we can prepare an individualised training program specific to you.

Whether you are looking to complete an Ironman distance event or 70.3 for the first time or looking to improve on a previous time, Onebody can help provide an individualised training program, providing technical feedback on sessions and working on technique with the aim to become more efficient.  Planning key training sessions specific to the event and creating a race nutrition plan are additional components important for race day success
