I had always played various sports as I was growing up but after school that fell by the wayside as work and travel took over. As the years went by group fitness became a bigger part of my life and 15 years ago I became a qualified group fitness instructor teaching a range of fitness programs. I am also now a Certificate IV Personal Trainer with a specialisation in womans fitness and strength and mobility.

When meeting my now husband I was introduced to the sport of triathlon and went along to spectate at a few races and from there the rest is history. I suddenly realised that anyone can do triathlon no matter what their experience or fitness level, it wasn’t just for ‘super sporty’ looking people…

Triathlon was a HUGE mental challenge for me, I was petrified of drowning and had a big fear of open water and swimming, but with multiple stroke correction clinics and learning to ride a bike again around the park I started doing short enticer distance triathlons. I gradually built up my race distances and 18 months later I completed the first Western Sydney 70.3 half ironman.

All of this was made possible by the amazing friends and training buddies I met through Onebody… all of whom were women just like me, having a go and out there to challenge themselves, have fun and cross the finish line no matter how long it took!

My triathlon journey came to a halt in the last 4 years as two children came along and throughout that time I worked in pre and post natal fitness, helping women to stay fit and strong throughout pregnancy and rebuild their bodies safely post baby.

I am now on my own personal triathlon comeback journey and super passionate about getting women into the sport of triathlon to keep fit, have fun and challenge themselves to try things they never thought possible.
